As a fashion and catalog stylist, Nefertiti a native New Yorker was given that name at birth it means the "beautiful has come'. she has found beauty in fashion, photography and Styling. Nefertiti developed her passion for style watching her Parents dress for thier evenings out, and watching movies from the 30s,40s and 50s, Nefertiti love to watch movies to how the garments fit look and move, while the couples were dancing or interacting; how well dressed everybody Is. She loved costumes, at the age of fourteen she designed clothing with her close neighbor friends, and produced a fashion show, for the community board, after presenting that show Nefertiti was asked to work at Dance Threatre of Harlem in the costume department.This is where she learned more about the craft of sewing, the passion that she had as a child, had come Fruition. Nefertiti learned to understand the movement of garments, and the feel of fabrics.She made her first costume and,was so excited to see them on stage, made her love for fashion grow even more, while attending high school in the college bound program; her love for fashion didn't stop, Nefertiti asked if the college bound students could take a sewing class and at the end of the class they would present a fashion show,to the student body.I was able to fill the class.the class and the show were a success. After High school, Nefertiti attended Fashion Institute of Technology, where she majored in Fashion Buying and Merchandising, do to the fact she did not have a portfolio she was not able to major in fashion design,which was her passion, this did not deter her from her love of design and fashion, She designed clothing and modeled them during her years at FIT, Nefertiti left FIT with a degree in Merchandising and Buying something she did not like, so after a few years in retail, working showrooms, buying offices,and a advertising agency. She took a class in becoming a Photo stylist at Parsons School of Design all of these things she loved came together at this moment. Nefertiti started working at Warsaw studios where she was hired as a fitter.That is where she learned what a stylist should know, how a garment should look and fit. It dosen't matter if it is a man's suit or a ladies garment she knows and understands them very will, Nefertiti loves to look at the workmanship of beautiful well made garments. Nefertiti can make an inexpensive item of clothing look better than it's worth. Together working with the crew, the photographer, hair and make-up artist, models and assistants. She can make a vision come to life either for a client or in testing her own visions. Nefertiti has an Extensive catalog background working for some of the large commerical studios in New York City. Styling catalogs, direct mail and advertising. In the years she has done styling. Nefertiti has also done Fashion show production, Casting, and location Scouting. Nefertiti was an Adjunct Professor at Fashion Institute of Technology, Photography Department teaching Photo styling techiques to Photography majors. Exculsive on-call, On-figure Stylist for Fairview Advertising now Orchard Brands, doing the Haband line. Nefertiti has fun doing her job, and is dedicated to her craft, she works hard to make the job move on a fast and cost efficient pace.
